Elephant Village Community Program

India

HIGHLIGHTS

Elephant is the giant animal present on the earth, and are considered as vulnerable animal in nature. Elephants are poached for ivory tusk; this ivory trade is considered as the biggest threat. Along with this, elephant is also used as a working animal in Asian countries and are displayed in circuses and zoos. These are considered as the keystone species and have a greater impact over their environment because of its large size. Due to ivory trade, elephant slaughter has increased and has resulted in a decrease in the number of elephants across the world.   There are some families, which protect elephant and provide them shelter with all the necessary facilities required to live a healthy life.

Habitat destruction and fragmentation are also some of the threats that are faced by elephants. In this case, if you want to work and contribute to the healthy living and protecting this animal slaughter, than, you should work with elephants in India. The Elephant village project is one such project, which is carried with an aim to manage the healthy life and better living condition. This project work for the Village community who takes care of them, along with elephants and it provide an opportunity to contribute to their well-being. In our Elephant village community project, volunteers work with women & children of the community in enhancing their skills as well as help them in caring these giant animals.

In this project, you will help children and women to lead a healthy and hygienic life. Along with basic education and this is provided with an aim to reduce the poverty cycle.
